I decided to experience the sex Vienna scene and got myself a room in Motel One in the 1st district of Vienna. This is a very good budget hotel, as central as it gets. If you need a better hotel chain than Le Meridien and Marriott are also great options for reasonable rates. The center is also a good spot to reach most neuralgic mongering points.
Sex Vienna first stop: Maxim
Started off the sex Vienna adventure by going to Maxim first, as it is only a 30 seconds walk across from the hotel. Got there very early, no entry fee so got myself a drink and did the first observations there. Nice ladies but fully dressed, some elegant, some more sexy with less on. This was Thursday night but at 9pm when they open, so only me and another local fellow.
I made sure that I understood all the rates and the system, as well as what to expect and decided to come back a bit later.
Transition to Funpalast
I grabbed a taxi to drive over to Funpalast which has gone the budget route now. Taxi fare was about 20€. 70€ entry bought me the privilege of:
2 towels
a bathrobe
1 set of bath slippers
1 paper card that entitles me to have half hour sex with a girl of my choice
So far so good, although the receptionist gave me a strange vibe. In Maxim, the staff was more approachable as soon as I entered. In Funpalast they are more brief and quick to “dispatch” you. That is to be expected from a budget brothel that once was a more expensive saunaclub. Yes, I had done my homework and research.
I understand that Funpalast has gone the budget route to attract more girls as they were losing the David-Goliath matchup against Goldentime and were decaying fast. My first impression is that I fully understand why they are losing this battle. Funpalast is simply not a good looking place and the girls have no class and neither do the clients.
Is Funpalast worthy?
It wasn’t as full as I feared (Funpalast is a huge structure BTW) but the ladies were not as pretty as I had hoped. So, if Funpalast’s mission was to attract the best girls because they are packed with clients, then so far they failed. But of course that is still an early stage in an experiment and one should always give a brothel time to grow. So I did, I gave them 2 full hours of my time but that was really all I could take because of the atmosphere. It’s just not for me. Small side fact; left of the Funpalast entrance is another staircase leading up to a place which must be described as kind of a Balkan discotheque or nightclub. I think this explains the whole Funpalast sex Vienna situation even a bit better.
Talked to some of the ladies of course, they all in unison told me that they like the new system in general, but hate the cards which are their payment from most guys who do not bring more cash than the 70€ they pay at the entry.
I also learned that the club is mostly packed on weekends but doesn’t really vibe during the week. Never mind me; they will surely not see me anymore, so I do not care much about their schedule.
I also had Peepshow Burggasse on my list but it was already too late to get there before closing time.
Next stop: Okaybar
So I took a taxi from Funpalast and told the driver to get me back to Vienna and to the Gürtel, really only out of curiosity. Turned out to be quite a drive. I chose Okaybar and fought the driver off a few times when he wanted me to go to EVE bar. I was in fact prepared and cut him off the moment he brought it up. I didn’t quite get the anger of the driver, though, because as far as I knew Okaybar also pays a high bounty for every guy sent from the taxis but maybe that is a thing of the past.
Guys, I tell you what a thing of the past is: OKAYBAR
So this is a Thursday night in May when all hotels are booked solid in Vienna (it was super hard to get a room, even in Motel One but I managed) and in Okaybar I see 3 girls total.
One can only assume that the taxi driver was not receiving any bounty because Okaybar is not paying it anymore. Why would they with a total of three girls on a Thursday night?!

So back to Maxim and since there is no entry fee and no cover charge it was all very convenient to say the least. It was still early enough, just a bit after midnight and I could clearly see why Maxim has a good reputation and the other places have a questionable one or none at all.
By now everyone had woken up and the place got noisy and alive. The local who I had met a few hours before was by now staying with two ladies at a table drinking some kind of bubbly and there were a few groups and a few single guys at the bar. The dancing on stage had become more frequent and dynamic, so all was set for an enjoyable experience.
Granted, compared to around 45 girls who I counted in Funpalast, in Maxim I saw maybe close to 20 but the difference is strikingly so much better in Maxim.
I was up for two or three sessions and my plan to shoot my first powder in Funpalast failed. If you wonder what I did with the ticket, I sold it for 50€. People are gladly taking the cards; it is the easiest thing to get rid of it.
Two sessions were the minimum that I was going for so I saw Alina whose curly black hair and cute appearance convinced me quickly. You can find all of the girls that I will be mentioning here.

1. Funpalast’s raised their entry fee
We’ll start things off by informing you that Funpalast has increased their entry fee! With absolutely no extra value added to their service, Funpalast has raised their entry fee from 80€ to 90€!

By doing this, Funpalast has equaled GT’s entry fee and it’s obvious that they can’t compare in service. GT has been asking 90€ for almost 2 years now, but with a fully renovated venue, better food and with a lot more and better looking girls. And then there’s Babylon which offers a lot but for the minimum of 150€, although we’re fully aware that Babylon is in another price range.
On the other hand, Maxim is still asking NO ENTRY FEE whatsoever, despite the fact that they’ve improved on so many levels!

So, they now give 65€ for the first customer to the taxi drivers, definitely preferring the drunk ones. Which is definitely part of their Eve Bar’s scam since most respectable Gentlemen clubs avoid drunk clients so that the good clientele doesn’t get bothered or distracted.
Eve Bar wants DRUNK clients!
But Eve Bar has a strategy devised around drunk clients – Eve Bar would even go as far as to simply open a bottle of Champagne by default, just because the drunk clients would inevitably pay the sky-high bill later. As a matter of fact, if the taxi drivers manage to bring in a larger group of drunks they would lock up the doors to rip them off exclusively and undisturbed.
Prices of the rooms or of the champagne largely depends on how much money the person seems to have and especially on how drunk he seems. There are actually no drink price lists anywhere because the prices are always different. Prices could go as high as up to 250€ for half an hour (preposterous!).
Also, the girls are instructed to not talk that much, but when the prices become a topic (and they usually do) they should distract the client (anything that would draw his attention, babbling all kinds of stuff usually) so that he doesn’t realize the rip-off he fell into. People get a credit line (similar to what’s happening in Vegas) and are tempted by the bar to sign some papers, which makes Eve Bar entitled to super charge the bill and if necessary they will sue the guy!
The main problem with Eve Bar
Eve Bar’s main problem is that their scam is making its way on the net (we take pride into sharing this information with our article posted a while back: https://sex-vienna.com/2012/10/01/the-taxi-sex-scam-in-vienna-eve-bar/) and more people know about it, but they are still well fed due to the flood of taxi drivers still supplying Eve with clients for 65€ .
Also, they almost never have that many girls and rarely (very rarely) they have pretty girls. Quite obvious that pretty girls would never want to work in a place like that, despite the money that can be made for the girls (reality is that the girls are also not paid fairly).
Other scamming clubs in Vienna are failing big time!
All of the other clubs that pay high taxi rewards are basically out of business: Monaco Bar – closed, Okaybar (although in general a nice place) – in trouble. Eve Bar is the only club that’s in great shape because they over extort the hell out of every client that can afford it or that seems to be easily ripped off. Oh and Eve Bar is still doing so good due to the area the club’s located in (one of the best areas in town).
We have to thank to the taxi drivers themselves, without whom we would not have this valuable piece of information. They chose to not let their clients fall into the Eve Bar trap anymore, because it is for one a scam, brings them bad karma, is against the law and quite dangerous.

Watch out! There are new prices in Goldentime Vienna and a few new girls too.
In Goldentime Vienna the prices were generally agreed upon by all the girls over the years: Entry fee in the club – 90€ (raised from 80 to 90 in August 2013); 60€ for half an hour; 120€ for an hour; Extra Prices – 60€ CIM (Cum In Mouth), 60€ for swallowing cum, 120€ for anal sex, 60€ for cum on tits.
This was the general price scheme and blowjob without condom (OWO) and kissing (DFK) were never charged as an extra service. As we all know this can sometimes depend on the chemistry between the client and girl and the girls may sometimes refuse to do it. Either they were included in the 60€/120€ price (half an hour/ an hour) or they weren’t offered at all.
However, recently new prices in Goldentime Vienna made their way into the saunaclub. It actually started with Goldentime Linz, the newest branch of Goldentime in Austria, which opened their gates to clients in October 2014.
The new girls in GT started asking extra money for every service which was included in the “half-an-hour” price up until then.
Most of these girls used to work in Germany as well as in other parts of Austria, so they may have a different mindset than the sexworkers accustomed to Vienna’s prices. Although it’s mostly Romanian girls who charge extra keep in mind that most of the sexworking girls in Vienna are from RO anyway so no wonder that GT is overflowing with Romanians as well. The new habit of charging extra for services which are usually included is starting to spread and now also happens in FKKs like FKK Fresh and FKK Funpalast (although not so much in Funpalast).
How much extra money?
Up to 40€ for service like blowjob without condom or kissing. Service which was up until now (Blowjob without condom was included 90% of cases) included or at least given out of sympathy (when kissing was the request). So 60€ for a half hour session may now turn into 100€ with no extra value.
This annoyance doesn’t happen that much to regulars, but it very much affects foreigners, tourists, newcomers and one-timers.
This whole situation has made waves into the Austrian ErotikForum (http://www.erotikforum.at/) where people discuss it a lot, with daily complaints and no stop in sight.
Why is this happening?
There are a few reasons…For example, the management at Goldentime is expanding their business with the new branch in Leonding, close to Linz in Upper Austria and other branches planned out throughout Austria (as our sources indicate) and has other things to worry about at the moment than the service of their girls. Also, the law clearly states that the clubs are NOT ALLOWED to have an impact on their girls’ service and prices.
Another reason for this new prices in Goldentime Vienna is the slow business and girls want to make money off any single guy they catch.
But when girls are chasing away potential clients should the club really sit back and watch like GT is doing? For example, Sexclub Maxim Wien has recently changed their policy and they take only girls who don’t charge extra for OWO and DFK.
What’s the solution then?
Goldentime could simply change the rules if they wanted, but since they’re too busy and don’t interfere it makes it look like they’re either oblivious to the new prices or to the fact that this makes some people angry and uncomfortable. Or maybe they simply allow it to happen.
Many angry clients coming out of Goldentime Linz claim that the management totally supports and even encourages the girls to charge 100€ for half an hour with the paid extras instead of the base price of 60€, which is the main reason why the club’s basically empty most of the time and why there are no real stunning girls working in GT Linz anymore.
If you think you won’t be able to handle this problem, you should probably stay away from GT. However, keep in mind that GT still has a lot of good girls with an honest service level and with an unchanged price scheme. These are the girls that make the trip to GT worthwhile, you just have to find them first.

Laufhaus Vienna – the house
Just a short description because you can see everything you need to know on their website and I have already described it in an older post of mine and in the Laufhaus comparison article. The house is new and rather stylish, although maybe a bit cold in appearance. All in all pretty, modern and very functional. There are around 40 rooms and the house is pretty well booked. Most rooms, if not all are in use. They have surveillance cameras and bouncers so you can feel save at all times. Laufhaus Vienna attracts young, attractive sexworkers other than most other Viennese Laufhauses, maybe with the exception of Laufhaus Rachel with, sadly, is not having any business and only have girls because of their good marketing.

The motto of the party is not important because it has no effect on how the night will go down. But let’s just enjoy the fact that on that day there is a reduced entry fee of 60€ – as opposed to the price 90€ they set you back on normal days – and that the Goldentime team will certainly yet again organise almost up to 100 girls and will serve excellent food as they always do on party nights. Exact details of the “Bühnenshow” are yet to come so let’s stay tuned for this one.

Really no reason to pick just one of those upcoming events in Vienna. I encourage you to attend all 3 of them. Bear in mind that the Maxim Party is the only one with no entry fee, though.
2013 was a super hot year with a heat wave that was unheard of if you believe Austria’s weather records. With temperatures well over 35 degrees celsius throughout July and August, this was a summer that I will always remember. This kind of heat can go into your head and sting. It can, figuratively speaking burn a hole into your brain. Not everybody can deal with this kind of heat.
Maybe it was the heat and respective heat strokes that caused Vienna’s FKK Sauna Club changes, one can only speculate. I for one think that not all of the things that were changed were really given a great deal of thought before going through with.
As far as I know there were 4 major (some more major than others) changes.
1. Goldentime upped the entry fee from 80 EURO to 90 EURO
Just when nobody really expected it, Goldentime management decided to increase the entry fee. Now they ask a rich 90€ from every man who seeks to come in. The girls’ entry fees were already raised merely a year ago. From 60€ to 70€, which I personally found no big deal. The 90€ entry fee, although just 10 euros more, feels just a bit more painful, although in my opinion GT is still worth it.
Why did nobody expect it? Well, they introduced the new fee one day after their extremely successful anniversary party in August. This party swept in almost 1,000 people, making it an incredibly successful event and a statement of what can be done by lowering the price for a day.
If you don’t remember, I will refresh your memory. On that party day GT asked only 20€ entry fee which basically meant that the first half an hour of SEX with a GT girl was free on that day. This was a clear message tossed towards Funpalast which hosts similar parties every 2 weeks. However, with much smaller success (although often still pretty impressive).
I guess raising the entry fee can and must also be seen as a statement of power. “We can charge what we want and people will still come”. If they are correct, it remains to be seen, though!
2. Funpalast upped the price for half an hour sex with the FP girls
While GT’s new entry fee had to come sooner or later, FP’s decision to raise the prices:
half an hour costs now 70€ (before 60€)
a full hour costs now 120€ (before 100€)
came as a much bigger shock to many lovers of FP. Of course an argument can be made that the girls decided that and they have all the right to do so. But this decision doesn’t sit too well with me to be honest.
I am not cheap, and I will pay the girls what they want, but what is the motivation of the higher price? Most people will agree that the business in FP is not as good as in GT and in other FKK Sauna Clubs across Europe. The reasons are clear but shall be discussed another time. With the essential change of the half an hour price, regular FP guests are losing a lot of value. In saunaclubs it happens more often than not that people go to the rooms more often than just once. If they go 3-4 times, the extra 30 – 40€ can hurt quite a bit.
3. A new Saunaclub has opened: www.FRESH.sc
The best things come in threes, or do they? Surprise number 3 is the opening of the new Saunaclub FRESH in early September 2013.
Once again the motivation of opening a new Saunaclub in a saturated market like Vienna is beyond me. Smarter minds will probably shout an amused “DUH…!” my way but I can’t really see the big benefit for, well so far for anybody.
OK, OK, I was not yet in Fresh myself and what I am writing here is hearsay but my sources are super awesome and legit. There is no doubt in my mind that I can repeat all of it without lying.
Facts about Saunaclub FRESH
Fresh is a new and really pretty place with style and nice interieur
the opening party was a success and they had between 20-30 girls which is a respectable number
unfortunately but expectedly just a small number of those girls were new in Vienna. Most of them had already worked in other Vienna Saunas or clubs and therefore do not really strike as being an incentive to go there… YET

Everybody likes the underdog and Donaudreams is the definition of a saunaclub underdog if I ever knew one. And they are reFRESHingly (no pun intended) honest with their announcement on the website.

As I have stated already in my last Saunaclub comparison post, I prefer GT over FP but occasionally visit Funpalast when there is a party. Funpalast parties are held pretty much every 2 weeks (to keep FP alive, I think) and at those parties the place is mostly pretty full, both with girls and ice bears. The last one I was at was on Friday 22nd. February 2013 and the motto was:
“LUFT & SEX” – which means “Air and sex”
Since it was the beginning of the weekend, they were open until 6am in the morning, which is cool.
How many girls and what do they look like?
At parties there are usually between 60 – 80 girls but given the seasonal circumstances and the generally bad economy in Austria (and the world for that matter) they have downsized a bit as it seems. I estimate 50-60 girls on that day which was plenty and there were some real nice chicks among then and I would say something for every guy’s taste.
Outfits of the Girls
Two words: poor outfits almost all of them!
I have criticized the fact that in FP the girls do not have a clear rule of how they must be dressed because as a result they come in all kinds of dresses which mostly are nothing than a poor display of… well, rather a good display of terrible taste in clothing. Plus almost all outfits were black. I have made a point in my Saunaclub comparison post that I think the general color scheme of Funpalast is way too dark. Between my last visit in FP and now not much has changed but the girls have. The Funpalast food on a party night is much better than on regular nights. There is no doubt about that, everybody will confirm it. In fact on a party night the food is real good, although they ALWAYS serve the same stuff. They serve:

rice with vegetables

some assorted grilled sausages

some meat on a stick, mostly chicken
The fish is pretty popular and runs out fastest. The show cooking starts at 7pm and lasts until morning as long as there is food. Before 7 pm they have a brunch like buffet which is not that great.
Who did I bang on yesterday’s party?
Let me tell you right away that I had a fantastic night which 2 of my best performances and sex acts in my history :)
That is special because in Funpalast there was always a high chance of epic failure in the room for me. For what it is worth, it is just my opinion and experience and lots of people probably state the opposite.
1st leg and 1st Choice Dana

I think it is about time I update my blog with the same basic info about FKK Sauna Clubs in Vienna.
Although Vienna is one of Europe’s bigger cities there are just 3 real FKK Saunas and only 2 of them are competitive and attract a large crowd.
But before I get into that, let me explain a bit what Sauna Clubs are and why they differ so much from other venues like Nightclubs, Studios, Laufhauses and Peepshows.
A Saunaclub is a place where you usually pay an entry fee which allows you to get in (dressed only with bathrobe or towel around the waist), stay in the club all day and night until they close and make use of all amenities of the venue. Those amenities usually are:
Sauna Cabins
Steam Bath
Indoor and or outdoor pools
Bars – all non-alcoholic drinks included except for Red Bull
Resting areas a buffet or restaurant
Showers all over the place
Infrared Cabin
porn cinema
rooms to go to with the girls
Massages for a fee
Solarium for a small fee
Guests in a Saunaclub usually are called Ice bears (Eisbären in German) – a term that I believe originated in one of the many FKK forums in Germany. The reason for this name is the fact that all guests of a Sauna club usually wear white bathrobes or white towels around the waist only.
The Germans BTW have made this lovely concept as big in Europe as it is nowadays.
This brilliant idea and the very first FKK Sauna Clubs, I believe, originated in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and the concept went by the name “TERMAS”.
The most important amenity of all, and the real reason why Sauna Clubs are as popular as it gets, are the ladies who usually run around naked or half naked and offer their services for a more or less small fee.
In Vienna all girls in all 3 Saunas charge 60€ for 30 minutes in the rooms, bareback French mostly included and if not, then the girl simply doesn’t offer this service at all.
It is not common that girls charge extra for natural French but I recommend to always ask before you commit to a girl in a Saunaclub.
So far so reasonable but if you want to book extra services your experience may become a bit more expensive. Following extras can be booked:

One other important thing that differs from other sex systems: you pay after the sex and never before!
You can also have sex in the guest room itself or – which is more common – in the porn cinema
The 3 real Sauna Clubs in Vienna
In Vienna there are really only 3 acceptable Sauna Clubs to choose from in my opinion. There are more of them, of course, and they may per definition also qualify as a Sauna Club as they have some Sauna Cabins and also collect an entry fee to get in and see the girls but I will not waste much time and energy on them and neither should you. They are not worth your time and money and PLEASE let no friend or taxi driver tell you otherwise.
Goldentime and Fun-Palast may ring a bell as they do a lot of good (and sometimes not so good) marketing to attract clients and girls from all over the world. Since in my opinion Goldentime is by far the best place in town, let me start with…
has opened its doors in November 2003 and single handedly revolutionised Austria’s sex scene back then… or so I was told. At that time I was still in friggin’ Norway freezing my ass, balls and limbs off day in and day out :) This means Goldentime will celebrate their 10 year anniversary in 2013. Guys, you can count me in, I’ll be there!
Goldentime is located at
Karl-Gunsam-Gasse 1 1110 Wien
and opens at 11am until 4 am in the morning.
If you plan to come late, make sure you arrive before 3am in the morning as you won’t be permitted to come in after 3.
They will charge you a fee of 80€ to get in and during the day will offer up to 80 girls for your pleasure.
If you come in a group, make sure to buy a 6 pack of entry cards as that will grant you a discount of 80€ which equals 1 free entry.
If you feel like drinking you can invest the amount you just saved in coins that you can buy at the reception – 5€ each which enables you to get 1 alcoholic drink. If you are already a bit drunk the receptionists may limit the coins you can buy for your own safety and as a courtesy to the girls and your fellow punters inside the club.
Once you get there you pay the entry fee of 80€, receive the key for your locker, the bathrobe, a towel and you get into the locker room area to change and take a shower before you are ready to enter the paradise that a FKK Sauna Club can be.
The Interieur
The lockers are kinda narrow and close to each other but everything is fairly clean and hygienic.
If you have valuables or lots of money with you, I recommend you deposit all that in the safes near the entrance which also work with they key you were given.
In the locker area there are 2 toilets and shower space for about 6-7 people at the same time. That means plenty of space on a normal day.
Well, by now you should be all set to step in the guest room of Goldentime!
I remember my first time ever in an FKK Sauna and it is a very special feeling usually. Most people, including yours truly, at first are not used to the number of nude beauties that you meet in the few seconds that it takes to move from the lockers over to the bar.
On a normal evening roughly 50 – 70 ladies will be available. They sit around on the many designated seats (white couches) there or make a round and wander from one end of the club to the bar and back to their seats in pursuit of an ice bear who could book them.
Goldentime was not my first Saunaclub ever but due to the fact that it is not very very big, it has a special feel to it and it really is very open and neatly arranged.
Goldentime is not a luxurious or feudal temple. It is simple but effective and everything is always clean. The cleaning staff is on the move at all times and you hardly ever see them take a break.
Vis á vis of (right in front) the bar in the centre of the guest room there is a show stage with a pole. The girls do not dance often but sometimes, mostly in evenings, they do. On rare occasions I have also seen special lezbo shows and stuff but that is not a regular part of the show concept, only an occasional thingy.
On the left side of the stage are 2 saunas and the steam bath.
Behind the stage are the showers and some chairs to lay down and rest. From there you can leave the inside of the club and go outside where you find another bar which is hardly open, a small swimming pool, another sauna and a few cabins which are the outside rooms for sex with the girls.
Around the pool there are some tables and chairs to sit and some chairs to lay down (not in the winter as it is too cold to sit outside).
On the right side of the stage are the infrared cabin, the massage room, the toilets, the DJ area, an aquarium and the entrance to 6 rooms.
Right next to the bar is the buffet space where you can decent food but nothing excellent usually. For my taste it is good enough. As mentioned above. Food and all non-alcoholic drinks are included.
The Girls
In Goldentime Vienna there is a great variety of girls to choose from. I have already written a report of Isabella and there are many more girls of the same quality and stunning looks.
I will not mention further names in this post because this one should stick and I really can’t update it that often.
Just for your information: I have met at least 15 wonderful beauties at Goldentime and sometimes it was a tough decision who to choose and who to reserve for the next visit.
Good thing about the girls at Goldentime is that there are pretty much naked and only wear one piece of accessory on them, usually a kind of string belt which they wear around their waste or some sexy stockings.
Except for Mondays which is Lingerie Day they never wear a bra or a thong.
Whether you like dark haired or blonde, tall or short, fat or super skinny, fair or blacky, you will most likely find a girl that meets your needs.
But be cautious because Goldentime is a successful place and many hundred visitors may come on a good day. The girls are there to hunt you and some wish to have at least a dozen clients. Do not be tempted to take the very first one that approaches you. It is better to select wisely and try to have a conversation with the girl of your choice BEFORE you commit and go to the room with her.
If you know your way around a Sauna Club you may probably never become the most popular person in there but at least you will not fall victim to a girl that is a shark in disguise. This is not a Goldentime issue, but a general Saunaclub Issue instead, though.

The Rooms
The rooms in Goldentime definitely are nothing special. They are not very big and the beds are basic.
Before you go to the room with a girl she will get a towel first (by the way, this is your cue and you have still time to take a quick shower… I recommend it because the girl sees that you care).
The towel will be laid over the bed, you can put your towel on the nail in the wall… really, I am serious. They have nails in the wall to hang your bathrobe or towel. Next thing you know you are on the bed and can do your thing.
Now it depends on the girl you choose and you to see if you can handle her or not to make it a memorable thing or just another punt.
On a very busy night it can happen that you have to wait for a room to become vacant again. But usually you will not have a problem. Business seems good but it happen to me only once that I had to wait.
If the 9 rooms on the ground level are busy you have another 12+ rooms on level lowel. Go figure, they are even less luxurious :) The rooms on top at least have some posters of pretty Goldentime girls on the wall.
I was told that the rooms on the lower level are also used by the girls to sleep/spend the night, but I can’t confirm that as I never saw any of them in Pajamas.
On the lower level there also is the VIP room but also that is something that I only heard about and never used myself so far. One hour in there would cost 250€ if I am not mistaken. As soon as I tested the VIP room myself I will update this post immediately to describe it.
Is it clean?
Goldentime is definitely and without a doubt a clean and hygienic place. As mentioned before the cleaning staff is on the move all the time and soap, towels and whatever else you need will never be out.
The outside/the garden
There is a small pool that is rather cool and refreshing in the summer and heated in the winter. There are also some cabins for sex and some open rooms only covered with curtains for sex outside. All of that is mostly used in the summer. In winter, I guess, only the sauna is in use.
There is a garden with a hammock, some trees, a shower next to the small pool and a matrace. That’s all and it is surrounded by big walls so that people can’t see in, come in or get out.
In summer the outside area makes for a very enjoyable time, as you can get a tan and go for a swim (not really) and cool off in the pool.
Food and Drinks
The buffet is decent but not delicious. Between 11am and 7pm there is a kind of brunch buffet, with salads, fresh rolls and bread, boiled sausages, some pastry, cereal, milk, fruits and whatnot.
At 7pm sharp the evening buffet is ready and they will serve 2 warm meals and 2 fixings on the side. It is pretty good, I can’t complain. If everything else fails, you can always order some great food from the poker room next to Goldentime. They have a great chef.
But really now… under normal circumstances you will like the food in Goldentime too.
The drinks are ok, you can order all kinds of soft drinks, coffee and tea for free and if you feel the need for alcohol, you can buy coins at the reception. 1 alcoholic drink will cost you 5€.
If you read the full description of Goldentime, you should have a pretty clear idea what you can expect there, I think.
has opened its doors in late 2007 or early 2008 and belongs to a well known group of nightclub owners in and also outside of Austria. Some of my readers will have heard about the Casabianca nightclubs. Bingo, that is them.
The management or current team of Funpalast used to work at the old Goldentime management which has changed rougly 8 years ago when Goldentime was bought by another group of investors, some of which also have plenty of “red light experience”.
But I do not want to describe this much further as I actually lack real knowledge and information about what really went down a few years ago.
The Funpalast is located at

opens at 11am in the morning until 4am Sunday through Thursday. On the weekend they remain open until 6am which is a clear advantage for late mongers like myself who suffer from a late case of horny caused by lack of success with the ladies in the local discotheques :)
Only problem is that I am usually very far away from Funpalast as it is not really in my alley. The 23rd district is really a bit far from the centre where I live and I hate to drive that far usually.
The procedure of getting in is pretty similar to the one at Goldentime. It costs you 80 bucks and you get a towel and bathrobe plus the key to your locker where you will find your bathing shoes (sandals).
While new guests are being introduced a bit by the receptionists in Goldentime, in Funpalast it seems as if they do not deem that important. Nobody has ever explained anything there to me although they really can’t take me for a regular. But since I know my way around any sauna by myself that is no problem.
The Interieur
The lockers are on the left and when you get in you will immediately clearly see the main difference between GT and FP. FP is not as clean and organised as GT is although it is the newer place. built just a couple of years ago!
There are 2 locker areas in FP and as it is the much bigger place it can host, I estimate, double the number of people. Out of the locker room to the left you follow the way, pass the management office on the left and a PC where girls and customers can surf the net if necessary.
Further in you will see the way to the rooms on the ground level on the right hand side and the 2nd locker area plus the safes on the left hand side.
Straight ahead you finally reach the actual Funpalast guest room which is centred by a nice indoor swimming pool, some laying chairs and 2 showers. The pool is cool and I use it regularly. If you go straight ahead you can move further in into the guest room with bar, dining area, dancing pole with stage, second bar and beach area.
YES, there is a beach!
If you decide to not move straigth ahead but turn left you pass a poker table (YES, you can sometimes play poker there), the resting area in a closed room on the right and the area with the showers and 2 sauna cabins. If you pass them you reach the beach area from the left side and find yourself where the party is or is supposed to be anyways.
If you turn right instead you pass some leather chairs and plenty of tables where you can relax if you want. If you move further you reach the dining area and the porn cinema on the right hand site which is kinda big.
No matter if you look at the place from the outside or inspect it from the insight it is a darker place than GT. And that is the management’s clear intention.
You will find lots of carpets there and the whole place is painted in darker colors. The rooms as well. They are larger and generally more beautiful than in GT but they too have that dark and sometimes unclean feel, although probably and in fact clean.
On the walls you will see some large paintings with golden frames. I guess this is supposed to suggest a feel of luxury but it does the opposite for me.
Granted, I have spoken to people who told me that FP is the most beautiful thing they have ever seen and it seems almost as if they would blow the architect for hours but I don’t see it that way, sorry.
The fact that the place is huge (by far the largest brothel in all of Vienna) should make for a lot of fun and excitement but unfortunately they have the ongoing problem of not being able to attract enough people to make it crowded. At least not on a normal day.
There are the parties, though, and then there is a different scenario. But I will come to that later.
Between the soft drink bar and the buffet area is the exit into the garden which is kinda big and since it has been renovated, also quite nice.
They do not have an outside pool which is a frigging shame but enough space to eat and lay down in the summer.
There are also some cabins for sex and a chess corner for lovers of the game :) Really a nice touch, I like it.
Upstairs, on the second level of FP where most of the rooms are, also is a gym with some good machines for staying fit and, if you want, a matrace for sex with the girls. Also this is not a bad idea.
Please do not ask me where the steam bath and the massage area are. I have no idea, right now.
The girls
Huge difference between the 2 venues. In Funpalast there is no dress code for the girls, it seems. They are allowed to wear all kinds of outfits:
bathing outfits with or without tops
short dresses
sometimes longer dresses
costumes of some kind
some are naked
While many people are advocats of dress variety, in this case I can really only say that this disturbs me very much. I love the fact that in Saunaclubs the girls are often totally naked and Ice bears know immediately what they’ll get body-wise from the lady of their choice.
All in all I would also say that the girls in FP are a bit less attractive on average. You’ll find almost the same number of girls there and, as is the case in GT, many of them from Romania which is known to be a factory where beauty is being manufactured (true for girls anyway) but you cannot find the same kind of stunners as you see in Goldentime.
I don’t know what it really is. Of course there are some girls there that look like models but on average you will rather find the gypsy type there.

One thing I found particularly interesting there: Funpalast has a massive fluctuation of girls. They come and go and only few stay there for a long time. That is different in GT.
This fact can be seen as good and bad at the same time.
If you want variety and new girls every time you go there, FP must be your favorite place.
Another advantage at FP is that 30 mins with a girl cost 60€ like everywhere else but if you take a full hour it only costs 100€ as opposed to 120€ at GT. That is new, though.
The Rooms
The rooms are bigger and more lavish than in GT for sure. They have actual furniture inside :) The beds are better too.
There are rooms on ground level and upstairs too. I think they are almost the same. I really do not remember much of a difference.
On a normal day I believe it is very unlikely to ever having to wait for a room in FP. There is really not that much traffic on a normal night. Of course that is different on a party night. But about that later… :)
Of course some of the girls also sleep in FP, so they will use some of the rooms for that, I believe and of course there is a VIP room as well, which I have not tested yet either. I will update my post regarding that for sure soon.
Is it clean?
I would love to say yes but if I am honest… very often I have the feeling that it is NOT clean at all. It does not look clean, that is for sure. But how can it look clean?
See… they have all kinds of things that store bacteria and are hard to clean:
beach with actual sand
carpets
furniture with cloth and velvet
and even if they clean absolutely everything always, it still will never look clean as it has a darker color scheme.
I guess this is supposed to be an oriental look. Let’s be honest and face it: is the orient a place that you connect with hygiene?
Food and Drinks
Once again you have to distinguish between a normal night and a party night (patience guys, we are almost there).
On a normal night the food is really not that great. I even had friends who filled up on breakfast and lunch before going with me to FP. I am serious.
And I have read reviews about FP where people actually claim to having suffered from stomache problems after a Funpalast visit.
I can only speak for myself and I definitely have never had any health issues after eating at FP. But it is not as tasty as it is in GT (and GT is only average) and it really doesn’t always look fresh.
On a Party night, the food is generally very good and fresh, though!
The Parties – FINALLY
The Parties at Funpalast are something that I believe to be one of the best innovations in Vienna’s Saunaclub and maybe even brothel history. Granted, probably the only innovation ever. Still, the parties were a great idea and I believe are the only thing that keep the injured FP (business wise) going and going and going.
On a Party Night in Funpalast the guests pay 80€ to get in. So far so trivial, that is nothing new. But on a party night you are also handed a small parking ticket with a date and stamp on it and this magic card makes all the difference.
This card will pay for your first half hour of SEX with a girl at Funpalast. This means that the entry only cost you 20€.
Logically Party nights are the busiest nights ever at FP. In the early days maybe 2 years ago they hosted parties every other month. Nowadays they host a party every 2 weeks at least.
Some Party nights are best described as Soddom and Gomorrha. You will find hundreds of people there and the best looking girls will be in the room with no break.
It really is an interesting thing to watch. Some girls are being picked up directly after coming down the stairs. I am not even sure if they always have the time to clean themselves from the action with the last customer.
Logically, due to the things I described, there is a different crowd of guests in Funpalast than what you find anywhere else. Also the whole atmosphere of FP is different. It is noisier, less relaxed and all in all less clean.
Sometimes I find that people are out of control there, although it never seemed dangerous in any way. But it just is a place that has a feel of lacking organisation. If that is intentionally or has happened over time… I cannot judge.
I could write hours about the parties but I think I have made my point. I really recommend that you make up your own mind and see it. I personally still go on party nights but I need to be in a certain mood or otherwise I couldn’t bear it at all.

What…? What is this taxi scam and why no girl or bar reviews this time?
Sorry but this is a general information post to warn all my international fellow punters out there who come to Vienna and look for a good time but fall or have already fallen for the taxi scam.
Commission to taxi drivers
In general it has been a common thing for bars, saunas and nightclubs to pay commission to taxi drivers who bring them wealthy and often drunk customers for many many years in Vienna. And I know for a fact that this is normal in every given big city in the world, so nothing major or dangerous about it as long as it stays reasonable.
Years ago, so I been told, the usual commission rate for the cabby was 100 Austrian Schilling and nowadays it is roughly 10 EURO.
So far so good, that is reasonable and nothing out of the ordinary. If every bar in Vienna pays the same rate for a single customer there is really nothing wrong about it. Normal and fair competition. Fairness granted for the customers as well and that is what we need and expect from a major capital of Western Europe.
However in recent years some bars in Vienna have upped their game. To be quite exact, in fact they have upped the prices they pay the taxi drivers for any given customer because they do not have game after all. This has gone as far as paying
50 EURO (Fifty EURO) for a single customer
I know it because I happen to be often drunk on weekends and use a taxi just as often to change venues or to drive home. And since I am obviously not Austrian and look foreign enough and since I am drunk enough to look like a victim they try to bring me to those small bars/nightclubs. At first It is real fun to listen to how strongly the taxi drivers seem to feel about these bars. Expressions like
“fantastic girls without any boundaries in that bar”

Well, so far so good, if they talk about Babylon or any other great place I will list below. But they try to bring people who are not familiar with the real great possibilities to have sex and entertainment in Vienna in small almost ridiculous bars. Bars that have no online presence at all or barely. There are 2 bars out there that must be mentioned
I knew for quite some time that they pay lots of cash for every customer but little did I know how much and to what extend this changes the taxi driver’s behaviour. 2 weeks ago on the weekend I had this thing happen to me again where the driver wanted to bring me to Eve Bar so badly, it was sad. After a while of him trying to convince me I asked him straight up! “Man, how much are those bastards paying you to bring me over there!?!?!?!”
I am sure he was instructed to shut up at this point but he seemed confused and stumbled “not so much, I just want you to have a good time…” He didn’t say that exactly because his English was mediocre at best but that was the gist of it. So I asked him again and after a while of me insulting him real bad he decided to calm me down by telling me the truth. So it seems that for a single person he drives to Eve Bar he receives 50€ Cash and for the second one 30 or 25… I forgot the exact amount.
So you can do the math, I guess… if he manages to convince a group of 3 of well dressed and wealthy looking guys to Eve Bar, he will cash in on the taxi fare plus a sweet 100€ bonus from the bar, at least 100€.
Now, my fellow punters, what does it mean if a bar pays 50€ for a single guy for being driven over? Exactly, it means once you are in there, you are basically screwed without rubber in between!
If they pay 50 to get you, they will try to rip at least 300 or more out of you. It is an easy calculation because they need to make a multiple of the investment back to be profitable.
Let me repeat, those are bars with no significant online strategy, no shows, no radio or TV marketing, no e-mail address and not even the phone number on their front page which is the sole page anyways, is functional. But still they can afford to pay 50€ to taxis for a SINGLE GUY?
Be cautious and be clear in your head when you step into a Viennese taxi nowadays. They will want to bring you to the places where they get the most commission. They WILL NOT bring you to the places where you are promised to have the most fun. There are a bunch of places in Vienna that are really worth the visit for us punters. It depends on what you want.
