A recent study found that 10% of Austrians support banning sex work and 34% accept the legitimacy of women’s brothels.

“I have a bordello, and the name of my whorehouse mom is Layla,” it bursts from more or less reasonable voices of drunk people. Not every brothel is titled Layla, not every prostitute participates in the business voluntarily and as the song clearly mentions, most brothels are run by men. Even in Vorarlberg, where there isn’t a single regulated brothel and sex work is done in secret, prostitution is thought to be the oldest profession and is a fundamental part of Austria.

For the “Kronen Zeitung,” the polling organization IFDD investigated Austrians’ attitudes about “sex for cash.”

The respondents mainly connect this to the fact that pimps make a lot of money from this (61 percent) and that sex workers face discrimination in society (64 percent), also that they frequently come from migrant backgrounds (65 percent).

Austrians frequently call for a ban on prostitution for other reasons in addition to these. The poll indicates that neither men nor women can benefit from it. A solid majority opposes it. Women are more inclined than males to support a ban, at 13% vs 6% respectively. When it comes to voting preferences, FPO supporters are most likely to encourage a ban (17%).

You probably picture female sex workers and male clients when you think about brothels. On the other hand, it is rarely a problem. Additionally, IFDD questioned if brothels “with only male love service providers” are necessary. Of those polled, 34% believe there is a need, 31% disagree and 35% are unsure. Voters in the SPO organization have the highest need, at 44%, while those in the FPO organization have the least need, at 28%.

THE FPO are also the largest group of respondents (44%) who believe there is no need for “women’s brothels.” A question about the design of such a brothel for women was also raised.

25 percent of those polled think it should be a beauty center with other services like pedicure and manicure, while 38% are unsure.

Only men responded “yes” when asked if they had ever had intercourse with a sex worker, making about 18% of those polled. In comparison, 80% of people respond negatively while 2% are unsure. In terms of voting expectations, SPO supporters dominate here as well with 25%, followed by FPO supporters with 19% and Greens supporters with 14%.

On numerous dating websites, the adverts read, “Meet lonely Ukrainians near you!” The competent authorities have prohibited a number of dating adverts using Ukrainian ladies because Great Britain wants to put an end to this. The ruling specifically concerns three adverts from the dating website “SofiaDate.” The models in the advertisement are dressed provocatively and have low necklines.

“Meet millions of lonely Ukrainian ladies,” states the advertisement. “Forget about being alone. Be joyful!”

It is obvious that the “sex appeal” created by the tight clothes is linked to the vulnerability of immigrant women. An alternative perspective of the Ukraine War seems improbable. Additionally, prostitution is a method by which pimps and human traffickers attempt to recruit Ukrainian women seeking safety abroad.

The UN agency for refugees saw a rise in “reports from Ukrainian women who feel intimidated by their supporters” as early as April.

The adverts were later taken down by the impacted dating website. But this is not an uncommon occurrence.

Numerous dating websites are attempting to take advantage of the ignorance of Ukrainian women, as can be seen by conducting a fast Google search using the phrases “dating” and “Ukraine.”

Five of them are now free, while eight remain imprisoned in Palma, despite the fact that they and their defense attorney repeatedly pleaded their innocence at the judge’s hearing.

The public prosecutor’s office suspects members of the bowling club “Stramm am Tisch” of setting fire to the reed roof of the “Why Not Mallorca” bar in Arenal on May 20 by throwing burning cigarettes and flammable beer from their hotels’ balconies.

The exterior area of the bar and the “Cupido” brothel on the ground level below were nearly totally damaged as a result of the fire and the extinguishing effort.

The verdict was announced during the judicial hearing some time ago: bowling brother number one was permitted to leave detention without limitations.

The fire is reported to have started when the 26-year-old was in the shower. Four additional guys were permitted to leave the jail on Palma’s Via de Cintura ring road on June 7th, following the transfer of bail of 12,000 euros each, which was delayed by Holy Monday.

According to Bild newspaper, they receive regular visits from two German pastors, Holmfried Braun, pastor of the German Protestant community in Mallorca and Dirk Dietzel.

According to the report, they bring small coins, a change of clothes, and spiritual support. The eight Germans still in custody allegedly gathered around a circle of chairs in jail for the first time since the judge’s hearing.

But the detainees’ most pressing concern is “When will we be released?”.

Their relatives gathered together an extra half a million euros on the court’s instructions for the joint and multiple liability assessed by the judge.

However, this is not a deposit, the payment of which promises freedom. Rather, it is a security deposit that may result in a more favorable decision in a process. When this will happen, though, is still up in the air.

Furthermore, the organization helps brothel owners and sex workers with all areas of administration and professionalization, and it is accessible to everyone seeking to learn about the various aspects of prostitution in a true, genuine, and impartial manner. A collaboration with other business organisations started and they have created their own petition, “Abolition of Criminal Code Section 232A Paragraph 6 – No Punishment for Clients!”

Last year, the day before the summer break at 1:15 a.m., the German federal parliament decided to modify the paragraph, without first going through a committee, contacting experts, or addressing it within the legislative.

Clients who “unsafely” assist in sexual slavery, victims of human trafficking or sex workers in need are now being charged, according to Stephanie Klee.

The customer will never be aware of the fact that the women that he is paying to have sex with, is actually there forced by a pimp, this will never be disclosed to a stranger.

This law is just symbolic. Klee thinks it’s also about taking a step toward outlawing prostitution.

Stephanie Klee was asked by the journalist if the Swedish model is also a good option for Germany, where buying sex is illegal and clients are punished. Klee is against punishing customers who haven’t done anything illegal, as well as sex workers’ isolation and prejudice.

Women are unable to work in brothels, where they can find quiet, protection, and hygiene, as well as social connection with their co-workers, because prostitution is illegal in Sweden and customers are criminalized. She also mentions article 12, which indicates that a woman has the same right to practice this profession as anybody else in the work field. According to Stephanie Klee, the majority of them live on their own rules, thinking that their definition of monogamy and family is correct and rejecting any other way of living. However, there are numerous ways to express yourself when it comes to sexuality and each individual should be allowed to do so.

The other person who helped her, was the mother of the main suspect and she was sentenced for two years in prison for complicity.

The verdict for her mother is already final, they could not file the appeal for it.

There was recently an interview with an ex-prostitute and activist Huschke Mau, in which she talks about the effects of the prostitution scene on her and women in general. According to her, women who work in this line of work are dehumanized and are used like objects.

She even wrote a book about everything that she experienced in the time she was working as a prostitute. For more details and other stories, keep reading now!

The author of the book “Dehumanized” Huschke Mau entered the prostitution scene when she was 17 years old. Her stepfather was an abusive man and regularly abused Mau and her mother, so she ran away from home and had to work in the prostitution scene for money. She worked in the prostitution business for 10 years before managing to get out.

Currently, she is an activist against prostitution and she’s trying to help women who cannot escape this field of work. In her book, she shares her own experiences, talks about how women get into the prostitution scene, as well as how difficult it is to get out.

In the interview, Huschke Mau stated that women who work in the prostitution business are no longer perceived as human beings by their suitors. She said that men who visit prostitutes choose women based on their bodies, like choosing from a menu. They rent the women’s bodies for a time and pay them to be exactly what they want them to be. This means that the women lose their personalities and can no longer be themselves.

Additionally, she added that she had many customers who were respected members of society, some even feminists. However, once they entered a brothel or visited a working girl they changed their behavior immediately. She also said that these men cannot be identified as being customers on first glance; they speak, dress and behave like everyone else.

The author of the book stated that she believes that most prostitutes do not enjoy the job. According to her, the act of selling sexual services is catered towards the clients most of the time. The clients know exactly what they want and the women need to turn into a different person in order to make the clients happy.

This is especially troublesome when the woman has to do something for the client that she doesn’t necessarily enjoy, but rather does it for the money; or worse, if she’s forced to do so

According to Huschke Mau, implementing the Nordic prostitution model could solve some problems that prostitutes are facing right now. By making the act of buying sex illegal, prostitutes could easily call the police when needed, without having to fear the authorities. In this case, the clients would be charged for buying the service rather than the women for offering it.

Additionally, the clients would probably be less aggressive as a result as well, since they would know that they are doing something against the law.

Not all prostitutes are forced into working in this line of work. Unfortunately, there are women who are forced into selling their bodies for someone else’s gains, which is a terrible thing that should be stopped.

These women need immediately help to escape their situation and get all the aid they require. Having the option to quit is immensely important and prostitution should be a choice and not a necessity or mandatory.

However, there are a large number of women who look at prostitution as just a job. They get paid for the services that they’re offering. There are good days and bad days, but in the end they continue working because for them it’s better than having a so-called “nine-to-five” job. Women who work in respected and professional brothels or agencies earn a lot more than they would in a regular job. Additionally, they have the chance of meeting all types of men, which is yet another plus for many.

The native Austrian nicknamed “Wiener Peter” has to serve the remaining from his life sentence.

Joseph Peter N. was arrested in the Frankfurt Airport a few days ago. An escape form the German justice system ended after more than 20 years.

Born in Carinthia and living in Hamburg, he was known as “Wiener Peter” in his neighborhood. Due to the fact that he still has an open prison sentence for murder in Germany he was arrested in the transit area of the Frankfurt Airport. He was traveling from Dominican Republic to Vienna.

Peter had already served more than 10 years of his life imprisonment sentence in Germany before he was deported in Austria. He was extradited to Austria because of a request for extradition. This way his imprisonment stopped. According to the German.

The story takes us back to the times when rivals from the criminal gangs divided the red-light districts. This happened in Hamburg and Vienna.

Member of the “Chicago Gang”

According to the German newspapers, Peter was portraited as the “Godfather” of St. Pauli as a member of the Chicago gang (named after the Chicago Tavern). It is said that the Austrian came to Vienna via Berlin.

He was a well-known figure in the “red light” in the mid-80s. When Chinese Fritz, one of his partners, was shot in Zur Ritze Bar, the police suspected Peter for that. This was never proven.

Four contract killings proven

Four other contract killings were proven and in 1990 the Hamburg Regional Court sentenced him to life imprisonment. If he continued to serve his sentence in Austria after he was deported maybe, he would have been a free man today.

The media reports he was enjoying his last free moments in the Caribbean Islands.

A retired criminalist claims that Peter once tried to win some territory in Vienna. He was rudely talked out of business by the Gurtelgalerie as the “Red-Light” bosses were called in the federal capital. There were always connections between the mafias of Vienna and Hamburg.

For example, in the late 70s, a stolen Mercedes with a Hamburg number plate led to the arrest of Red Heinzi, the leader of Gurtelgalerie. However, the crimes that he was arrested for, receiving stolen goods and violation of the weapons law, were harmless compared to the rest.

Terrible act in Recklinghausen, four men are accused of rape by the district court of Bochum. The suspects lured the women into a trap and attacked, raped, and robed them. They claim that they just wanted to use their services.

The attackers threatened the women present in the brothel with a fake gun and stole a tablet and a cell phone. One of the suspects, Said A., has forced the victim to perform oral sex as well.

A few days later three of them were involved in another attack. One of the women escaped miraculously. The three of them were supposed to meet with two women in an apartment. One of them managed to escape by climbing on the roof of a neighboring house through the window. The other one was not able to escape and it’s said that she was beaten and raped. Now the four men have to defend in court for these terrible allegations.

More and more men are stating that they contacted sexual transmitted diseases after using prostitution services in Vienna. Those claims made the Vienna police start a mission against the illegal prostitution in private apartments.

The police spokesman Christopher Verhnjak said that the customers of the illegal workers started to report them to the police department due to the fact that they got STDs after using their services.

During the action 10 women prostitutes were checked at their private addresses and the officials verified their ID cards and health certificates. In total there were 16 violations found due to lack of health examination or not declaring prostitution. Furthermore, two Chinese women were found to be staying illegally in Germany and they were arrested under the immigration law.

Romanian man sentenced to prison in Vienna

A 41 year old Romanian man was recently sentenced to four years of prison for bodily harm and insurance fraud. Apparently, the man had forced a 57 year old into doing various things for his own benefit. Among other things, the man had allegedly poured acid into the woman’s eye.
