Sexclub Maxim Wien: As always, Maxim Wien was one of the first clubs to tell their clients of the new lockdown. The sexclub has published a notice on their official website stating that the club is unfortunately going to be closed due to the lockdown in November. Goldentime FKK: Much like Maxim, the Goldentime FKK also notified their clients through their website. They posted a message on the top of their establishment’s website saying that their company must stay closed till November 30 according to the new COVID-19 regulations. According to the statement, the Goldentime FKK is also going to reopen as soon as they are allowed to.

Laufhaus Vienna: The Laufhaus Vienna management has also notified the clients on their site. Clients can find a notice on the main page saying that the Laufhaus will be closed between November 3 and November 30. According to the statement, the ladies of Laufhaus Vienna will be awaiting guests from December 1.

The brothel was originally opened in 1972 and it was actually the first high-rise brothel in Europe. Back then, the establishment was called “Eros Center” and it was built in order to eliminate the red light district in Cologne. The now famous “Pascha” name was given to the brothel after 1995 when a new owner took over the operation of the business.

The building has 7 floors and 126 rooms for the prostitutes to operate from. The ladies had to pay a fee to use the rooms available in the brothel, but they received various benefits, such as meals, medical care, protection and of course the ability to operate from one of Europe’s biggest brothels.

The brothel was opened 24 hours a day, so business was booming for the women, as well as the operator of the brothel. In 2010, a documentary about the brothel named “Like a Pascha” was created, which gave even more publicity to the brothel.

Incidents in the Pascha brothel

There have been multiple incidents in the history of the Pascha brothel over the years that it was operational. The police had to visit the brothel multiple times because of harassment, illegal activities, protests, aggravated assault and many other things.

Additionally, in 2017, the founder of the Pascha brothel (Hermann Müller) was sentenced to 3 years of imprisonment because of tax evasion in another one of his brothels. The brothel was also raided by the police on multiple occasions for different reasons.

Pascha closed in 2020 because of the Corona Virus

At the start of September, 2020, the Pascha brothel in Cologne had to file for bankruptcy because of the new laws that were introduced in Germany as a result of the Corona Virus. Prostitution has been banned in the North Rhine-Westphalia state in Germany for the time being, which made it impossible to operate the brother legally. As a result of not being able to operate, the owner wasn’t able to maintain keeping the brothel open, so they had to file for bankruptcy. Additionally, the German government wasn’t able to tell them when they can start doing business again.

Before the lockdown, there were around 120 prostitutes working in the Pascha brothel, all of which have lost their job when the new laws have been introduced. At this point, the women had to go back to their country of origin or simply look for other job opportunities in Germany.

At this time nobody knows when or if the Pascha brothel is going to be able to reopen again. According to the owner, he hopes that they are going to be able to open again starting from next year, if they get financial help from banks and other contributors. Booking an appointment online has been made simple and the form can be completed within a few minutes. When you visit the Zentrum für sexuelle Gesundheit (Center for Sexual Health) website, you have two options to choose from. The left button (Erstuntersuchung) is for women who wish to book their first health examination. This option is for women who have never booked an appointment or for those whose last exam was more than 6 months ago. The button on the right (Folgeuntersuchung) is for women who have previously been on one of these examinations and have their ID cards. Women who go on their regular 6-week check-up will have to use this option.

If this is the first time visiting the Center for Sexual Health website a profile creation is required. This profile will be used for any examination appointments from now on. Once the registration has been complete, the women can book their appointments in order to receive their green cards and be eligible to work legally in Vienna.

On May 28th, a 29-year-old prostitute allegedly dazed her client using narcotics. The plan was to rob her client, which she successfully did so according to the victim. She got away with two cell phones and took 3,800 Euros from him as well.

The prostitute did not admit the alleged crime, thus the Regional Court of Vienna adjourned the trial.

But this doesn’t change the fact that the escort’s fingerprints were all over the place. She had opened drawers and throwed boxes here and there, obviously looking for valuables. The prostitute stays in custody until the trial continues.

Hygiene concept for sex workers meeting in apartments

Those sex workers who wish to either meet with clients in their own private apartments or other similar places have to follow certain guidelines. For example, clients are only allowed to visit the ladies if they have an appointment. The rooms need to have disposable towels, hand disinfectants and liquid soap available. The ladies are required to clean and disinfect the rooms before each meeting. The clients have to be notified on phone or by email about the necessary measures that need to be taken.

Once the suitor arrives, the ladies aren’t allowed to welcome the clients with a hug, kiss or even hand-shake. The clients have to disinfect their hands and take a shower. Additionally, both parties have to wear face masks throughout the session and the sex workers are not allowed to offer oral or any face-to-face services. Sex without protection is strictly prohibited. Bodily fluids and condoms need to be disposed in a waste bag that should be readied beforehand.

After the session, the client and the sex worker both have to take a shower. The clothes that were used need to be washed thoroughly and the client has to be notified that he should wash the clothes too when he gets home. When the suitor leaves, the ladies have to ventilate the room for at least 10 minutes, change and disinfect the bed sheets and towels that were used and remove any waste from the room. All contact surfaces (shelves, doorknobs, chairs, etc.) and sex toys need to be cleaned and disinfected. The ladies also have to keep the customer contact data for up to 4 weeks in order to be able to trace back infection chains.

Hygiene concept for escort ladies

Much like for women who want to work from private apartments, ladies who wish to work as escorts also have to follow a certain set of rules. Escort work should also only be carried out by appointment and the contact data needs to be kept for 4 weeks. The clients need to be notified about the necessary measures beforehand and they need to also be made aware that the ladies are offering limited services. This means that all sexual services need to be carried out with a mask and that the ladies are not allowed to offer face-to-face or oral services.

Escort ladies are not allowed to hug or kiss the clients upon arrival. The ladies are required to disinfect their hands when they arrive and keep their face masks on. Before the session, the ladies, as well as the client need to take a shower. Additionally, another shower is necessary once the session has been finished. Bodily fluids and condoms need to be disposed of in a waste bag and the clothes that were worn are required to be thoroughly washed.

Once the session is over and the escort lady has left, the room needs to be disinfected and ventilated for at least 10 minutes. The bed sheets and towels that were used need to be changed and clean ones put in their place.

Hygiene concept for street working girls

Girls who wish to work on the streets are also required to follow the rules set by this new German hygiene concept. The women are required to always bring with themselves several face masks, a couple of bottles of hand disinfectants, multiple smaller waste bags and pieces of paper on which they can record the customer contact information, which is necessary for them too. The women are no longer allowed to lean into the vehicle and they should instead have the conversation outside of the car. Street sex workers also need to notify their clients of the limited offer of services.

Women who work on the street can only initiate the conversation on the street; all services must be performed indoors. This could mean vehicles or in rooms that are rented on an hourly basis. In case a room is used, all rules that apply to sexual service offering in apartments apply here too. During the session, only two people can be present in the room or vehicle and both parties must wear face masks. Women who work on the streets are not allowed to offer oral or kissing services either.

After the session, the client and the sex worker both have to disinfect their hands and dispose of any waste. In case the service took place in a vehicle, it should be ventilated for at least 10 minutes.

The hygiene concept that was introduced in Germany shows how much the Coronavirus is able to change the whole prostitution scene. This new law only affects Germany, which seems to be going into a very restrictive prostitution future.
